As Veterans Day approaches, our staff and residents at Compass Park pause to reflect on and honor the men and women who have served our country. Our community is proud to provide a welcome setting in which our veteran residents are recognized for their service and dedication.
What Is Veterans Day?
Veterans Day is observed each year on November 11, marking the armistice that ended World War I in 1918. Originally known as Armistice Day, the holiday was renamed in 1954 to honor all U.S. military veterans, which includes all of those who have served in any branch of the armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day, which pays tribute to those who lost their lives in service, Veterans Day celebrates all who have served honorably.
How Compass Park Honors Our Veterans
At Compass Park, we honor our veterans in many meaningful ways that bring respect and recognition into daily life. Each year, we host a special Veterans Day gathering that welcomes residents, families, team members, and guests to celebrate with a ceremony, music, and personal stories of service. Throughout our community, commemorative flags and military insignia are displayed in common areas and dining spaces as visible reminders of gratitude.
